According to EA last year, over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with the Force-wielding character of Cal Kestis (played by Cameron Monaghan) across the video games “Star Wars: Jedi – Fallen Order” in 2019 and “Star Wars: Jedi – Survivor” in 2023.
The character is known and fairly popular, which has led to speculation that he could one day show up in live-action form in a “Star Wars” series or movie, be it in a cameo, supporting role or more. Most of that talk has only been speculation though.
Now a new report from scooper Daniel Richtman (via SFFGazette.com) suggests Lucasfilm finally has ‘firm plans’ to bring Cal into a live-action “Star Wars” project. However it’s not clear which one that will be.
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy has previously discussed the possibility, saying she’s aware of the chatter and suggests “it could be really interesting” but indicated at the time no plans were in place.
In terms of where he could appear is a bigger question. Monaghan, who is currently 31, has indicated in the past his character was around 13 years old when Order 66 was issued.
That means he’s 18 in the first game and 23 in the second game. Going by the “Star Wars” timeline, the character would be around 41 years old around the time of “The Mandalorian” and “Ahsoka”.
A third “Star Wars: Jedi” game is currently in the works which is expected to end the character’s game story.
