Fraport USA inaugural awards gala honours service excellence at Reagan National and Dulles airports
One of the key highlights of the event was an awards ceremony to pay tribute to the customer service excellence of speciality retail and food & beverage outlets and their staff.
USA. Fraport Washington Partnership (Fraport USA) has hosted its inaugural Customer Service Awards Gala on 9 January commemorating a year of managing concessions at Ronald Reagan National and Dulles International airports.
Themed ‘A Journey of Excellence’, the event at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner brought together over 150 guests and featured a cocktail reception, dinner and a keynote address by renowned customer service expert Vance Morris.

Fraport Washington Partnership Vice President Alyson Murphy said: “It is an immense honour to acknowledge the achievements of the concessions operators and staff who diligently work each day to enhance the passenger experience at these fast-growing US airports.
“We are thrilled to mark this occasion and extend our gratitude to the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority (MWAA), as well as our airport partners and operators, for their support. Our journey with MWAA commenced in early 2024.
“As we continue to work together to deliver innovative programmes and exceptional service to air travellers, we look forward to reaching even greater heights in the days to come.”
In its first year of management, Fraport Washington introduced 32 units at both Reagan National and Dulles International airports.
The retail and dining options at two of the country’s largest airports include a diverse mix of local and popular brands, such as the recently opened Capital One Landing at Dulles International and South Block at Reagan National.
The company also highlighted upcoming openings for this year and beyond.
During the ceremony, Fraport USA recognised eight honourees across four categories with crystal awards and cash prizes.
In addition, the top Pepsi retailers were honoured for their performance. The winners are:

- Wings Superstar: Tonya Bonds – Capital Image

Washington Dulles International Airport
- Unit of the Year: Vino Volo – Paradies Lagardère
- Manager of the Year: Sayeda Jaghoori – Starbucks HMSHost
- Wings Superstar: Obaied Rahim – Travel Tech
- Best Reviews: Concessions International
Pepsi Sales Awards
- DCA: Lickety Split – CREWS
- IAD: Paradies Lagardère
Murphy said: “While these are considered the ‘best of the best’, we are grateful for all our winners – the managers of the month and WINGS honourees – who go ‘above and beyond’ to ensure the utmost satisfaction of passengers, visitors and airport staff alike.
“We have an exciting lineup of activities planned for the upcoming year. Our ongoing training and recognition programmes are designed to reward and motivate exceptional customer service. This is a goal that we strive to achieve every day.”
