Leigh Whannell‘s Wolf Man soundtrack will infect vinyl on April 25 from Mutant.
The score is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch, who previously worked with Whannell on The Invisible Man in addition to scoring such heavy hitters as It, Blade Runner 2049, Shazam, and Alien: Romulus.
Priced at $30, the album is pressed on 140-gram colored vinyl exclusive to Mutant.
“Ben’s score evokes the lush classic sounds of the original 1940s movie,” Mutant previews. “It’s a beautifully light score featuring incredible orchestration, evoking the mystery within the woods. The score is scary and brutal but also delicate and human when necessary. It’s evocative and rich and helps add grounding to this very contemporary telling of this tale.”
The new take on the classic monster is in theaters now, and Wallfisch’s score is available on digital and streaming as of today.
Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Leigh Whannell reinterprets the horror classic from a modern lens, decimating all of the cinematic werewolf rules in the process. That alone makes Whannell’s interpretation of the Wolf Man mythos an ambitious yet polarizing effort.”
