Mattel, the global leader in toys and family entertainment, has teamed up with pioneering manga and anime brand TOKYOPOP to develop original manga-style graphic novels inspired by two of its most iconic brands: Hot Wheels® and Barbie®. This groundbreaking collaboration aims to introduce the beloved franchises to a new generation of fans through an innovative storytelling medium.
The first graphic novel series, slated for release in 2026, will include a western-style manga based on Hot Wheels and new stories featuring characters from the Barbie universe. These titles promise fresh artwork and compelling narratives tailored for children ages 8 to 12, offering an imaginative take on these enduring brands.
