Nike's Comfiest Air Max Sneaker Just Got a Secretly Tough Update
Highsnobiety is a global fashion and media brand passionate about product and the stories that shape them.
Nike's Air Max 90 sneaker is really a no-fail Swoosh shoe. It's got this immaculate design featuring Nike's famous Air cushioning, making it the most comfortable Air Max sneakers ever. Over the years, Nike has kept the timeless model look fresh with plentiful solid colorways. And another banger just joined the collection of already killer AM90 designs.
Nike has cooked up a new Air Max 90 sneaker in a soothing "Cool Grey/Dusty Cactus" colorway. When I think of the iconic "Cool Grey" scheme, my mind instantly goes to the legendary grey Jordan 11s or even those Nike Dunks. However, these likeminded Nike Air Max 90s are surprisingly darker than the normal Cool Grey sneakers, embracing more of a dusky shade for its textural uppers.
I'm not complaining, as the Air Max 90 looks incredibly clean (per usual) in this latest scheme, which also features bursts of teal blues a.k.a. the Swoosh's signature Dusty Cactus color.
Now before you shout "Tiffany Air Max," the blues on this particular Air Max are a bit too intense, whereas Tiffany's exclusive blue hue is quite a bit softer. Plus, Nike already has a beautiful Tiffany-coded Air Max 90 sneaker...plus several other Air Maxes dressed in Tiffany-style colors, for that matter.
The newest Air Max 90 is simply just a "Cool Grey/Dusty Cactus" Nike sneaker, perfectly balancing stealth with just a hint of vibrancy for good measure. It's also is pretty durable, thanks to its quietly rugged carbon fiber layer atop its upper (Nike's also got an Air Force 1 crafted with the material).
If that sounds up your alley, then be ready to catch Nike's latest Air Max 90s when they drop in the spring on Nike's website for $130.
