Bkub Okawa, the manga artist for most famous for his work on Pop Team Epic, shared fan art on social media of Yugi Muto from Yu-Gi-Oh in his usual style. As of the time of writing, about three days after he posted it onto Twitter, it’s accumulated over 12k reposts and 65k likes. [Thanks, Oricon!] The art shows Yugi (not Yami Yugi) looking up to the side while holding the Millennium Puzzle, which is still around his neck. He has the signature cat-like smile that characters from Pop Team Epic tend to sport. Though Okawa limited replies, a lot of people quote-retweeted the picture to give their impressions on it. Back in the beginning, Yugi used a normal cord to hang the Millennium Puzzle around his neck. However, during the Battle City arc, he changed it to a silver chain. Other comments refer to him as AIBO, which is the nickname Japanese fans gave him. This is due to how “aibou” means “partner” in Japanese, and it’s what Yami Yugi consistently referred to Yugi as during the series.
