It seems like Rilo Kiley are about to reunite for their first show since 2008. As Stereogum points out, their name was spotted on a billboard for the 2025 edition of Pasadena, CA festival Just Like Heaven. The lineup hasn’t been formally announced yet, but as listed on the billboard, in addition to Rilo Kiley it’ll include Vampire Weekend, Empire of the Sun, Bloc Party, TV on the Radio, The Drums, Courtney Barnett, Toro y Moi, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Grouplove, Slowdive, and more. There have also been signs of life from Rilo Kiley’s online presence, including an updated profile photo on streaming services and new merch. No official word yet, but stay tuned.
Jenny Lewis confirmed the band’s breakup in a 2014 interview, after they’d been on hiatus for a few years. She and Blake Sennett reunited to perform “Portions for Foxes” at Coachella in 2015, and on a 2021 livestream where they did “Let Me Back In” together.
