Russos Scrapped Waldron’s Avengers Scripts For New Story And Daredevil To Have Small Role In Doomsday | Barside Buzz

The Barside Buzz is the Russos scrapped Michael Waldron’s Avengers scripts for a brand new story, plus Daredevil to have a small role in Doomsday. The information comes from insider Daniel RPK on Patreon. We knew that Loki S1 showrunner and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness scribe Waldron was writing Avengers 5. However, this latest rumor is hardly much of a surprise.

Waldron was already rumored to be off the script before we got the Russos announcement at SDCC this year. Therefore, I think it’s fair to say we all assumed Doomsday was a brand new take. Still, that was never once stated by anyone at Marvel, as you’d expect. RPK says the fact it’s a brand new script is what caused some delays to the original filming dates.

Some fans will be ecstatic at this news because Waldron seems to get blamed by fans for Multiverse of Madness not being that great a film. Given he was hired last minute with a deadline, I’m less critical of him. I think Marvel Studios themselves have to take some blame for that situation. Equally with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which had it’s whole ending changed by the studio. Though, that was not written by Waldron.

Finally we have word from RPK that Daredevil (Charlie Cox) is finally set to appear in an Avengers movie. Daniel says Cox is set to have a role, though a small role in Avengers: Doomsday. I’m not sure Daredevil is the ‘team up’ type outside of fellow street level heroes like The Defenders. But then he’s possibly not in a team if he only has a smaller role?
