Union Pool’s Summer Thunder 2025 lineup: Hard Quartet, Ted Leo, L’Rain, Frankie Cosmos, Joe Bataan & more

Union Pool has announced this year’s lineup of Summer Thunder free shows, which happen every Sunday afternoon from June 29 through August 24 from 2-6 PM in the venue’s back patio. This year is the 13th anniversary of one of Brooklyn’s best free concert series.

They’ve really outdone themselves this year with some of the biggest names across-the-board they’ve ever had. Most notably, The Hard Quartet, which includes Stephen Malkmus, Matt Sweeney, Jim White and Emmett Kelly, play August 17. There’s also Ted Leo, L’Rain, Hannah Cohen, Steve Gunn & John Truscinski, Alex Amen, and Summer Thunder regular and king of latin soul Joe Bataan. This year’s finale is TBA but the way the flyer says “check this space/place” could be construed as a clue.

The first Summer Thunder of 2025 is June 29 with Frankie Cosmos and Juan Wauters.
