Fortnite has confirmed that virtual pop star Hatsune Miku is coming to its Festival game mode.

Hatsune Miku was created by voice synthesiser company Vocaloid in 2007. Miku was designed as an “android diva in the near-future world where songs are lost” and the virtual Idol has since featured on more than 100,00 songs. They’ve also starred in their own series of video games and comic books.

Now Hatsune Miku is following in the footsteps of Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga and The Weeknd by headlining Fortnite’s dedicated music game mode, Festival.

“Mikufans, it’s time to grab your glowsticks (or should we say leeks?!). Hatsune Miku (初音ミク), one of the biggest virtual pop stars in the world, is bringing her futuristic sounds to Fortnite as the Icon for Festival season 7,” reads the announcement. “The singing synthesizer turned global superstar is featured in more than 100,000 songs and has beamed her way onto stages around the world. Now she’s heading to the Festival stage!”

Fortnite Festival season 7 is now live and runs until April 8. During that time, players will be able to unlock Hatsune Miku outfits, special instruments, jam tracks and other rewards in the free battle pass. A paid Music Pass is also available, offering even more Hatsune Miku-inspired goodies.
