“Dexter: Resurrection” Series Begins Production

Michael C. Hall has confirmed that production is officially underway on the new series “Dexter: Resurrection,” which is effectively the second season of the revival series “Dexter: New Blood”.

Hall will return as serial killer Dexter Morgan and is joined by fellow returning franchise alum David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, and James Remar as Harry Morgan.

‘New Blood’ ended with Dexter shot and left for dead in the snow. The currently airing prequel series, “Dexter: Original Sin,” has a framing event showing events after ‘New Blood’ in which Dexter is revived in hospital and undergoing surgery – but nothing beyond that.

No synopsis has been released for “Dexter: Resurrection” but it will continue the events of past ‘New Blood’ and be set in the present day. Zayas’ Angel Batista was only a guest star last season, here he’s expected to take on a more substantial role.

Clyde Phillips also returns to serve as showrunner. Filming will continue through the first half of the year ahead of the show airing this Summer on Paramount+ with Showtime.
