The second season of the Noel Fielding-led Apple TV+ irreverent comedy series “The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin” has been canceled midway through production.
The show premiered its first season March 1st last year and scored a second season renewal in July following that initial season’s success. Fielding starred in the titular role of Dick Turpin, a n 18th century highwayman who embarked on various adventures.
Production began on the second season in the Fall with the season stopping midway through for the Christmas/New Years holidays. According to The Sun, production resumed after the short break but Fielding didn’t appear on set.
Their sources say circumstances surrounding Fielding’s absence are still a mystery to the crew. Rather than hit pause, producer Big Talk Studios has decided to cancel the show “before the situation got any worse” claims their source.
The cast and crew are “understandably bewildered and infuriated” as millions of pounds and months of work are up in smoke and “they are all out of work and looking for new jobs” and all without a “full explanation” as to why.
They were, however, advised it was due to “the illness of a key cast member”. Marc Wootton, Ellie White, Duayne Boachie, and Michael Fielding co-starred in the series.
