Today marks the first and only Friday the 13th here in 2025, and you better believe the horror genre won’t be sitting the big day out. EIGHT new horror movies released at home today alone.
Here’s all the new horror that released on Friday, June 13, 2025!

From producer Takashi Shimizu (Director of The Grudge) comes the Japanese nightmare Best Wishes to All, which notably won “Scariest Feature” at the Overlook Film Festival. The Japanese movie hails from director Yûta Shimotsu, and it’s now streaming on Shudder.
“A young woman’s visit to her grandparents’ home leads to the discovery of what’s brought them happiness, a revelation that will lead her to question her choices, sanity and reality itself.”
Aine Hara stars alongside Kotone Furukawa and Koya Matsuda.
Bloody Disgusting contributor Matt Donato wrote in his review for Daily Dead, “At no time is Best Wishes to All expected (complimentary). Shimotsu’s on-the-nose portrayal of Japan’s cyclical and soul-sucking methods of happiness is furiously untamed.”
Matt continues in his Best Wishes to All review, “It might not be perfectly sharpened or delivered, but that’ll matter less if you find yourself gawking at the loss of humanity on screen.”
Final Destination franchise creator Jeffrey Reddick is back with The Other, which marks the return of Hellbent (2004) and Angel of Death (2009) director Paul Etheredge.
Produced by Reddick, the film is now available on VOD outlets.
The Other tells the story of Robin and Daniel who adopt Kathelia, a mute orphan with a dark past. Their dream turns to horror as eerie events unfold and Kathelia’s behavior grows unsettling. As an evil force takes hold, they must fight for their family—and their survival.
Olivia Macklin, Dylan McTee, Avangeline Friedlander, Lily D. Moore, and Shawnee Smith star. Lisa Normand, Jeffrey Reddick, Jeff Walker, and Tim Nagle produce.
While you wait for M3GAN 2.0 to dance into theaters later this month, The Asylum has unleashed their own mockbuster take on the franchise with the indie Morgan: Killer Doll.
Morgan: Killer Doll is now available on VOD outlets.
“When a lifelike doll begins killing people linked to a dead woman’s past, the survivors must risk their lives to uncover the doll’s true nature—before they become her next victims.”
From writer & director Jose Prendes (Monster Mash), Morgan: Killer Doll stars Michael Paré, Bix Krieger, and Shelby Wright. Exclusively watch the movie’s official trailer below.
From Terror Films and director Aaron Dobson, found footage horror movie .Raw_File follows a journalist and concierge as they investigate a suspicious suicide at an apartment block.
It’s now available on VOD outlets for Friday the 13th.
Christopher Sutcliffe, Monica Oprisan, and Alexander Bishop star.
“.Raw_File is proof that you don’t need a big budget to create something meaningful. We set out to show that found footage still has immense potential when paired with a strong, well-crafted script. A lot of filmmakers fall into the trap of thinking they can shoot and hope for the best, and while they can take that chance we believe that a tight narrative and compelling story are the real keys to success,” director Aaron Dobson said in an official statement.
He continues, “This film is a testament to the power of storytelling in its most honest form. It’s not about the scares or gimmicks – it’s about creating a world that feels real enough to pull the audience in with a plot that keeps them engaged from start to finish.”
A man wakes up tied to a tree and left for dead, but someone is watching in Bark. The single-location psychological thriller just released digitally today via Dark Sky Films.
In Marc Schölermann’s (Pathology) Bark, “Charismatic Nolan Bentley wakes up in the middle of a remote forest, tied to a tree with no recollection of how he got there.
“With his time relentlessly running out, a mysterious stranger appears and he must finally reckon with the demons of his past and fight to survive to find a way out of his nightmare.”
Michael Weston (Pathology) and A.J. Buckley (“CSI: NY”) star.
Director Freddy Macdonald makes his feature debut with the darkly comedic thriller Sew Torn, which is now available on VOD at home after a recent limited theatrical release.
In the film, “Barbara Duggen (Eve Connolly), a mobile seamstress, gets tangled in her own thread after stealing a briefcase from a drug deal gone bad. In an escalating game of cat and mouse, her different choices lead to drastically different outcomes along the way.”
Calum Worthy (“The Act”), K Callan (Knives Out, “Poker Face”), Caroline Goodall (Schindler’s List, White Squall) and John Lynch (The Watchers, “The Terror”) also star.
Meagan Navarro writes in her review for BD, “There’s a dizzying display of innovation and style on display in Macdonald’s funny, violent, and genre-influenced cozy crime caper.”
Valerie Buhagiar’s The Dogs barked its way onto VOD outlets today.
The film is based on Canadian author Allan Stratton’s bestselling novel.
“After fleeing his psychotic father, a teen and his mom seek refuge in a remote farmhouse, only to face a pack of ferocious dogs and the sinister spirits that haunt the property.”
Donovan Colan, Kathleen Munroe, and Stuart Hughes star.
And finally, fans of folk horror may want to check out director Chris Cronin’s The Moor, a British horror movie that was released here in the United States on VOD beginning today.
In the film, “Claire was just a child when her best friend was abducted and murdered. Twenty-five years later, the killer has served his time and is due to be released.
“Claire is approached by Bill, the dead boy’s father, who has a plan to keep the killer behind bars. With the help of psychic Eleanor, he takes them deep into the haunted moor which he believes is his son’s final resting place. They find more than just the ghosts of dead children out there – something else, something dark and evil, stirs beneath their feet.”
Sophia La Porta, David Edward-Robertson, Elizabeth Dormer-Phillips & Bernard Hill star.
