Ryan Reynolds Producing “I Eat Poop” Film

Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort production company is set to produce “I Eat Poop: A Dung Beetle Story” based on the popular children’s book by Mark Pett.

The project has been set up at Paramount Animation and Oscar-winning filmmaker Josh Cooley (“Toy Story 4,” “Transformers One”) is adapting and in talks to direct.

The story follows dung beetle Dougie who starts at a new school in a new town. There he struggles to hide who he is – and what he eats.

But when a series of mysterious disappearances plagues the town, Dougie and his whole community discover that what makes them different…might just be what makes them heroes.

EGOT-winning songmakers Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, who previously teamed with Reynolds on the Christmas musical “Spirited,” will produce via their production company Ampersand.

Reynolds’ company has multiple projects in development including “Boy Band,” “Eloise,” “Reality Vice” and “Starter Villain”.
