NeueHouse Design Awards: Shaping California’s Future Through Design

At COOL HUNTING, we’ve always believed in the transformative power of design. It’s not just about aesthetics—it’s about impact, intention and building futures we want to live in. That’s why we’re proud to be a media partner for the inaugural NeueHouse Design Awards, a new program dedicated to celebrating the designers shaping California’s next chapter.
Launched by NeueHouse in collaboration with Shinola, LA Design Festival and COOL HUNTING, the Awards call on creators working across disciplines to submit work that pushes boundaries, centers sustainability and responds to the evolving ways we live, work and connect.
Rooted in California’s unparalleled design history—think Eames modernism, Apple’s tech minimalism and everything in between—the Awards look ahead. They’re seeking projects that solve contemporary challenges with human-centered creativity. The categories include: Living (Furniture + Industrial Design), Built Environment (Architectural Innovations) and Wellbeing (Health + Hero Technologies).
This is an invitation to designers, architects, technologists and interdisciplinary makers to share their vision. Submissions will be reviewed by a world-class jury of innovators from Gensler, Ligne Roset, Studio Collective, The Future Perfect, Lawson-Fenning, Minotti, TRAME and more—including COOL HUNTING’s own Josh Rubin and Evan Orensten.
Winners in each category will receive an exclusive NeueHouse membership, with a Grand Prize Winner also receiving a cash award. All winning projects will be celebrated at NeueHouse Hollywood during the LA Design Festival on 25 June 2025—and permanently installed within NeueHouse’s flagship space, itself a landmark of design history.
At COOL HUNTING, we’re excited to help amplify this moment for creative voices shaping what’s next. We encourage our community—designers, innovators, studios large and small—to enter and contribute to this important dialogue about where design is going and why it matters.
