L’OCCITANE Group is celebrating its second anniversary as a Certified B Corp organisation, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, ethical business practices and social responsibility. The milestone marks a key chapter in the Group’s ongoing transformation as it continues to integrate purpose across its operations.
As part of B Corp Month 2025, L’OCCITANE Group joined nearly 10,000 certified companies under the theme Gen B, united by a shared mission to create lasting impact for future generations.
Since achieving certification in 2023, the Group has made significant progress. Living wage certification now covers over 90% of employees globally – up from 50% the previous year – with full coverage expected shortly. Employee benefits have also expanded, including enhanced retirement schemes in the USA, new life insurance policies across Asia Pacific and upgraded health and safety initiatives in Japan.
L’OCCITANE Group is also reinforcing responsible sourcing through its #NotJustSuppliers programme. More than 600 suppliers – representing 65% of global procurement – are now aligned with the company’s Code of Business Conduct, supporting higher standards in ethical sourcing and environmental stewardship.
On the environmental front, the Group has reached 97% renewable electricity usage across its operations as of the end of 2024. In packaging innovation, L’Occitane en Provence’s redesigned 30ml hand cream reduces greenhouse gas emissions by -23%, while Melvita’s refill system cuts packaging material by up to -91%. Dr Vranjes Firenze has introduced recyclable HDPE refills for its diffusers and candles.
At COP16 in Colombia (21 October-1 November 2024), the company launched a new biodiversity strategy through the OP2B coalition, furthering its ambition to drive nature-positive transformation across the business.
Community impact continues to be a priority, with employees participating in volunteering projects that support biodiversity, regenerative agriculture and social inclusion worldwide.
Looking ahead to recertification in 2026, L’OCCITANE Group is working to bring newly acquired brands – such as Sol de Janeiro and Dr Vranjes Firenze – into the B Corp framework.
In parallel, Maison L’Occitane en Provence has joined the B Beauty Coalition, aligning with more than 90 beauty companies to accelerate collective progress across the sector.
