Kai Cenat attended the BET Awards over the weekend and streamed some of his experiences. During his time at the star-studded event, he introduced Playboi Carti to the stage and bumped into Kendrick Lamar backstage. However it’s his encounter with rapper Wale that’s blown up online.
Streaming from the carpark of the BET Awards, Cenat was approached by Wale who was holding a Nintendo Switch. When he told Cenat what game he was playing, Cenat replied: “Smash Bros?” I’ll beat you!”. Once he got into his car, Kai Cenat noticed that all his viewers “knew” who Wale was. “That was somebody crazy,” said Cenat, mispronouncing Wale’s name as “Wally”. Cenat then asked his team “what he do?” and was told about Wale’s breakout track ‘Lotus Flower Bomb’.

Later that same evening, Wale confronted Kai Cenat while he was speaking to Snoop Dogg. “That exchange in the hallway, you made me look crazy,” said Wale. “They’re running with it but we’ll talk later.”
Later, Wale admitted that he didn’t know either of the interactions were being filmed. “We played in a celebrity football game together last year. I was really confused,” he wrote on Instagram. He then reshared the viral clip on Twitter as an advert for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Fans have also been mocking Kai Cenat over the encounter. “Definitely weird behaviour,” wrote one fan alongside an image of Cenat and Wale playing football together. “Kai Cenat not knowing who Wale is all I needed to see. He doesn’t know shit about music,” said another. “Kai cenat should know who Wale is. No excuses,” added a third.
Prior to his run in with Kai Cenat, Wale appeared on a podcast and claimed that a lot of popular streamers don’t “have a passion for hip hop.”
Earlier this year, Kai Cenat revealed that he’d become mates with Tobey Maquire after praising the Spider-Man actor in an interview.
Elsewhere during the BET Awards, Doechii spoke out against the Trump immigration raids in Los Angeles.”There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order. “Trump is using military forces to stop a protest, What type of government is that?”
