Iconic PS2 Shooter for PS4, PS5 Is Less Than $3 on PS Store

Another month, another brand new PlayStation Store sales promotion bringing solid deals to some of the best PS4 and PS5 games around. This month includes a modern console port of one of the most iconic PS2 first-person shooters.

PS2 classic TimeSplitters 2 is currently $2.49 on the PS Store

Originally developed by Free Radical Design and published by Eidos Interactive, TimeSplitters 2 is just $2.49 on the PS Store. That is a 75% discount off its typical $9.99 price tag. Players may want to act fast on this deal as it goes away just before the end of the month. The offer expires on June 26 at 2:59 a.m. ET.

“TimeSplitters 2 returns, surpassing its predecessor with a larger-than-life experience,” reads the game’s description. “This sequel expands on every front, offering faster-paced action, richer storytelling, and diverse graphical styles across nine thrilling time-traveling adventures. From the lawless Wild West to the neon-lit streets of Neo Tokyo, each era boasts its own atmosphere and challenges.”

When TimeSplitters 2 was originally released for the PS2 back in 2002, it was met with exceptional acclaim. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it received an average score of 90 across 33 critic reviews. It was released for PS4 and PS5 last year.

Although the new version of TimeSplitters 2 did not launch with trophies, they were added in a patch less than a month after its launch on PS4 and PS5.

PS Plus Premium subscribers can play TimeSplitters 2 in the Classics Catalog. This perk brings some of the most popular PS1 and PS2 games to subscribers of the service at no additional cost. Along with the rest of the TimeSplitters series, the Classics Catalog also includes Ape Escape, Dino Crisis, and Dark Cloud.
