Futuristic Mirrored Villas & Sustainable Luxury Define This Red Sea Resort Experience

Shebara Resort is situated along Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, and it is intended to be an ambitious experiment in both utility and form. The property features a collection of mirrored orb villas that seem to hover above the water or nestle into the sand, their reflective stainless-steel shells echoing the shifting colors of the sky and sea. Guests arrive by boat, greeted by a landscape that feels futuristic yet rooted in its environment. The architecture by Killa Design draws inspiration from the interplay of water and light, creating a sense of seclusion while maintaining a strong connection to the views.

The interiors have been conceived by Studio Paolo Ferrari to extend the feeling of immersion. Travertine, deep red accents, and subtle curves create a palette that is soft and warm. The guest rooms are designed as sanctuaries, each one oriented to maximize outlooks toward the turquoise water. Materials are chosen for their tactile quality, with stone, wood, and metals working together to establish a sense of calm. Lighting is carefully controlled, with both natural and artificial sources layered to suit different moods throughout the day.

Villas are spaced apart to provide privacy, and each features its plunge pool, shaded terrace, and direct access to the water or beach. The layout supports both relaxation and exploration, offering guests a place to pause while also inviting them to wander the boardwalks and shoreline. The design considers the local climate, using overhangs, louvers, and reflective surfaces to reduce heat gain and create comfort without excess energy use.

Dining venues and wellness facilities are woven throughout the resort, each space with a distinct identity yet sharing the same design language. The restaurants open to the ocean breeze, while the spa and wellness pavilions offer more intimate settings for rest. These communal areas are intentionally understated, allowing the natural beauty of the island to remain the focal point. Wayfinding throughout the resort is intuitive, with paths and boardwalks guiding guests gently from one experience to the next.

Sustainability is a guiding principle for the resort, which operates as a net-zero property. Solar panels and advanced water management systems support off-grid living, while careful siting and construction minimize environmental impact. The development team worked to preserve the surrounding coral reefs and natural habitats, integrating the resort into its setting rather than imposing upon it. This approach supports both the comfort of guests and the long-term health of the environment.

Shebara Resort reimagines luxury hospitality by balancing innovation with a strong sense of place. The mirrored villas, naturalistic interiors, and thoughtful amenities are all part of a design that encourages both contemplation and connection. Guests are given the tools to shape their own experience, whether through quiet moments in their private villa or shared meals along the waterfront. The result is a retreat that feels both futuristic and deeply connected to the rhythms of its landscape.
