Seattle’s Coffin Break return with first new album in 33 years: hear “Maxine”

Seattle band Coffin Break existed from 1987 – 1993, making a high octane mix of punk and metal across five albums for labels including C/Z and Epitaph before calling it quits right as their hometown’s scene took off. Having reformed in the late ’00s, the band have finally gotten around to making a new album, Revival, which is their first in 33 years. It’s out July 25 and was mixed and mastered by Seattle legend Jack Endino, who produced their final two ’90s albums (not to mention Nirvana’s Bleach and many other classics).

You can listen to “Maxine,” the album’s first single and the kind of hooky punk earworm that sounds right out of the early ’90s. Check that out below.

Coffin Break will celebrate Revival in Seattle on July 26 at Clockout Lounge with fellow late-’80s Seattle vets Girl Trouble and The 5 MILDS, which includes members of Fastback, Young Fresh Fellows and Mudhoney. Check out the flyer below.
