Honey Don’t! made its world premiere during the 78th edition Cannes Film Festival yesterday. Introducing detective “Honey O’Donahue” who still holds a contact rolodex on her desk. While Chris Evans was missing, Aubrey Plaza, Margaret Qualley, Charlie Day, writer Tricia Cooke, director Ethan Coen did make their presence during the popular film festival.
They Synopsis
HONEY DON’T! is a dark comedy about Honey O’Donahue (Margaret Qualley, “The Substance”), a small-town private investigator, who delves into a series of strange deaths tied to a mysterious church.

Although I didn’t get to make the beautiful journey to Cannes, I did get to screen Honey Don’t! on a big screen in Los Angeles. I was very drawn by the character of “Honey,” the confidence with the unexpected comebacks. Chris Evans’ role as “Reverend Drew” was hilarious and fun to see his comedic side while not pushing it too much. Aubrey Plazas portrays a law enforcement officer that, like others, is drawn by the attractiveness of Honey. Surprising us with a little bit of action and more. Charley Day plays a persistent detective.
Overall I found Honey Don’t! to be a good script with great performances. The cinematography was impressive portraying a small town ambient of Bakersfield. I was left with a question with the sudden ending. Although if we were to see the glass half full we can come up with our own ending. Unless this is the beginning of more about the private investigator, “Honey” and I would not complain!
