Open Relationship Comedy 'Splitsville' Trailer with Arjona & Johnson

"This is normal, right? People go through stuff like this in the first year of marriage?" "No..." Neon has unveiled the first official trailer for a kooky relationship comedy called Splitsville, the second feature from writer / director Michael Angelo Covino who also made The Climb back in 2019 (another crazy fun one). This recently premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival to mostly positive reviews, playing in the out-of-competition Cannes Premiere section. Splitsville picks up with Ashley (Adria Arjona) asking for a divorce, watching as the good-natured Carey (Kyle Marvin) runs over to his friends, Julie (Dakota Johnson) and Paul (Michael Covino), for support. He’s shocked to discover that the secret to their happiness is apparently an open marriage; that is, until Carey crosses the line and throws all their relationships into chaos. It's another movie making fun of how open relationships never work and always screw things up – but they're going to give it a shot anyway and we get to watch. Starring Dakota Johnson, Adria Arjona, Kyle Marvin, and Michael Angelo Covino, with Nicholas Braun and Charlie Gillespie. I caught this in Cannes in May and it's pretty good, but not great. Too tame and repetitive […]

Too tame and repetitive and not as funny throughout - still worth a look. // Continue Reading ›
