PS5, PS5 Pro players will be delighted to note that timed console exclusive Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has met expectations and then some. We’re not the only outlet who awarded the game a perfect score this morning, but that’s not all! Tech experts have declared that Death Stranding 2 is “one of the best-looking games of this console generation.”

Digital Foundry has conducted extensive testing to conclude that Death Stranding 2 is visually stunning and offers excellent performance on both the base console and PS5 Pro. However, the latter understandably produces better results overall.

According to Digital Foundry, the image quality is slightly cleaner on PS5 Pro, with some additional distant details. Both the quality and performance modes work well, but the outlet noted that both modes look so similar on the PS5 Pro that players can opt for 60fps without making any compromises.

Death Stranding 2 has virtually no load times on both the base PS5 and PS5 Pro. Additionally, Digital Foundry praised the game’s use of audio features, calling it “a masterpiece of sound.”

“Ultimately, this is one of the most exciting releases thus far this console generation and a fantastic technical achievement that shows why the Decima engine is such a powerful tool and how talented Kojima Production‘s team truly is,” writer John Linneman concluded.

At the time of this writing, Death Stranding 2 holds a Metacritic score of 90/100 based on 90+ reviews.
