Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. EKKO ASTRAL – PINK BALLOONS: POPPED EP

Ekko Astral release an EP of the bonus tracks for the deluxe edition of Pink Balloons, including their standalone single “Pomegranate Tree” and some reworks/alternate versions of tracks from the album.

MODEL/ACTRIZ – “DIVA”

Model/Actriz’ anticipated new album Pirouette is out next month, and they’ve given us another preview with “Diva.” “The writing on Pirouette as a whole feels more conversational than anything we’ve done before; however, the process that begot ‘Diva’ was the most off-the-cuff of any of the tracks on the album,” Cole Haden says. “Unlike most songs of ours which feel necessary to be written feverishly in a vacuum, these lyrics largely came together in the booth, and the character of this song really fell into place once I traded my pen for a glass of wine. The song takes place on a date, and the song references many of the real ones I’ve been on while on tour. Specifically, I’m remembering the times where frivolity shifted to mourning as we both realized we may never see each other again once the night is over. What I’ve learned is that in order to be ‘that bitch,’ one must make use of the melancholia.”

DJANGO DJANGO FT. MAN POWER – “HOME”

Django Django released “Home,” a jazzy disco collaboration with Man Power, as a 12″ single back in January and its three tracks have now been shared to streaming services.

FULL OF HELL – “KNIGHT’S OATH”

The extremely prolific Full of Hell have announced a new seven-song EP, Broken Sword, Rotten Shield, and lead single “Knight’s Oath” is out now. Read more here.
