6 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

MSPAINT – “DRIFT”

MSPAINT’s anticipated EP No Separation comes out this Friday (5/23) and new single “Drift” finds them continuing to expand their truly unique approach to synthpunk.

SISTER. – “TWO BIRDS”

NY-based band Sister. annonced their second LP, Two Birds, due out July 11 via Mtn Laurel Recording Co. They’ve shared the beautiful title track, where angelic harmonies float over grungy guitar squalls.

FLORRY – “TRUCK FLIPPED OVER ’19”

Florry’s anticipated new album Sounds Like… arrives this Friday, and ahead of its release they’ve shared a final advance single, “Truck Flipped Over ’19,” the shambolic, country and grunge inflected “Truck Flipped Over ’19.”

KEROSENE HEIGHTS – “WASTE MY TIME”

Asheville, NC emo band Kerosene Heights have signed to SideOneDummy and they just released their first single for the label, “Waste My Time.” Read about it here.

DIIV – “RETURN OF YOUTH”

DIIV are back with new single “Return of Youth,” a song that was recorded around the time of last year’s Frog in Boiling Water. While eerie and haunted, musically, the song was written as a hopeful look at the future, specifically in regards to frontman Cole Smith’s first son who had yet to be born. The video was shot in the aftermath of the LA wildfires which took Smith’s home.

SUEDE – “DISINTIGRATE”

Suede have announced a new album, Antidepressants, which will be out September 5 via BMG. It’s their 10th album and fifth since reforming in 2013, and it was produced by Ed Bueller, who worked Suede’s first three albums, as well as 2022’s excellent Autofiction. Here’s the first single.
