Daniel Craig and Cillian Murphy are in negotiations to star in “La La Land” filmmker Damien Chazelle’s currently untitled new prison movie at Paramount Pictures and Wild Chickens Productions.

The film is being described as a two-hander set in a prison, but furhter plot details are under wraps. Production is moving fast, with the project racing to go into production later this year.

This marks a major change of plan for Chazelle who just a few months ago was prepping to film an Evel Knievel biopic this Summer starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Months of talk with the actor are no on hold as he’s opted to reteam with Martin Scorsese one more time due to Scorsese’s advancing age (82).

Chazelle was working with DiCaprio on the prison project at one point a while back but their attention switched Evel Knievel. It’s not clear when, or if, that project will be resurrected once this is complete.

Craig has a third Benoit Blanc film, “Wake Up Dead Man,” coming this Fall. He’ll film his scenes for Greta Gerwig’s “Narnia” film before he gets around to shooting this.

Chazelle and Olivia Hamilton will produce.
