Finnair ground employees have been striking frequently since May and were on strike twice last week (June 17 and 19), resulting in nearly 300 cancelled flights and minimal catering on short-haul flights for four days.
The employees have given notice of another work action, and the plan is now to strike on July 2, 4 & 7, 2025, unless the parties can reach an agreement before this date. Finnair has not yet released guidance or information about the number of cancelled flights for these two days.
You can access Finnair here.
The number of flights cancelled on strike dates has varied between 50 and 150, and the cancellations are typically announced one to two days in advance.
Finnair has been pretty good at rebooking affected passengers on other airlines, but the routings are not always optimal (many transfers).
The EC 261/2004 Air Passenger Rights legislation also applies during these strikes. The airlines are required to rebook you to your final destination as soon as possible and provide Duty to Care (accommodation and meals) in case of long delays + don’t forget the required cash compensation.
Passengers whose flight is cancelled or significantly delayed can also opt for a refund, but that is their choice.
Many short-haul flights are also going out with no or very minimal catering around the strike dates, and Finnair has suggested that passengers should bring their own drinks and food on board:

Conclusion
These strikes have typically occurred in batches of three days, and the union has subsequently announced the following dates. It appears that they need to give notice 14 days in advance, so anything within the 14-day period that has not been announced yet is safe.
Some flights do operate on these dates, as not all employees are striking, and Norra, Finnair’s regional airline, flights should not be affected beyond a lack of catering.
The parties continue their negotiations, so there is a possibility that an agreement is reached before these strikes.
