AMC airs the second season finale of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” tonight, though it’s already up on streaming. At the same time, they have released a promo for what’s next in this still shuffling forward zombie universe.
Specifically, the network has set a September 7th premiere for the third season of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” which shifts the action from France to Spain. New episodes will air weekly through early-mid October.
In the new run, Daryl (Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) continue their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love.
As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.
AMC has managed to consistently get a new season out of the series each September thus far – the first season launched in 2023.
With the shift in location comes a new cast as some characters have died, others have moved on, such as Manish Dayal’s Ash from last season.
Here, Daryl and Carol will be joined by new regulars Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada and Alexandra Masangkay.
Additional cast includes Candela Saitta, Hugo Arbués, Greta Fernández, Gonzalo Bouza, Hada Nieto, Yassmine Othman, Cuco Usín, and Stephen Merchant.
