Lionsgate has revealed four new cast members for its highly anticipated prequel film, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on The Reaping. Laura Marcus, Percy Daggs IV, Rada Rae, and Jhaleil Swaby have officially joined the ensemble as tributes from the dystopian world of Panem.
Marcus will portray Silka, a fierce career tribute from District 1. A rising star, she’s also set to appear in Netflix’s upcoming Death By Lightning as Mollie Garfield, the daughter of former President James Garfield. Marcus is currently seen in Andor on Hulu/Disney+ and has had notable roles in The Serpent Queen, Bad Education, The Jetty, and The Devil’s Hour.
Daggs IV takes on the role of Beetee’s son, a brilliant tribute from District 3, continuing the legacy of one of the franchise’s most beloved characters. Daggs was recently seen opposite Halle Berry in Never Let Go and stars in Hulu’s Paradise and AppleTV+’s The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey.

Rada Rae joins the cast as Wellie, the District 6 tribute. Rae recently headlined the Netflix sci-fi film Exterritorials and has appeared in House of David and Nine Perfect Strangers.
Swaby will portray Panache, another career tribute from District 1. Known for his work on Amazon Prime Video’s The Lake, The CW’s Supergirl, and The Next Step, Swaby brings his charisma and physicality to the deadly arena.
They join a powerhouse cast that includes Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Ralph Fiennes, McKenna Grace, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak, Jesse Plemons, Billy Porter, Lili Taylor, Ben Wang, and Joseph Zada.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on The Reaping, directed by franchise veteran Francis Lawrence and penned by Billy Ray, is currently in pre-production and slated to hit theaters on November 20, 2026. Produced by Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force, the film explores the events surrounding the Fiftieth Hunger Games — the Second Quarter Quell — set 24 years before the original trilogy.
Based on Suzanne Collins’ latest novel published on March 18, 2025, Sunrise on The Reaping made an explosive debut, selling 1.5 million copies in its first week globally, including 1.2 million in the U.S. alone — more than doubling the first-week sales of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
With the Hunger Games franchise already amassing over $3.3 billion at the global box office, anticipation is soaring for this next chapter in the saga of Panem.
