Disney has premiered the first trailer for the long-awaited sequel to 2016’s animated feature “Zootopia”.

In the new film, detectives Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile named Gary (voiced by Ke Huy Quan) who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down.

To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before.

The original film made over a billion dollars at the global box office and was critically very well-regarded. A short film anthology titled “Zootopia+” was releeased direct-to-Disney+ in late 2022.

Joining them are Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson as the therapist quokka Dr. Fuzzby, Fortune Feimster as a beaver named Nibbles, and singer Shakira returning as the pop star Gazelle.

Zootopia 2 is written and directed by Jared Bush, while Byron Howard is a co-director. Yvett Merino produces the film which opens November 26th
