“This is the song that made us recognizable in airports across America,” Aimee Mann told the crowd at Saturday’s Cruel World Festival in Pasadena, introing her ’80s group ‘Till Tuesday‘s debut single and Top 10 hit, “Voices Carry.” This was the first ‘Til Tuesday show since 1992 and the first with the original lineup of the band — Mann, Robert Holmes (guitar), Joey Pesce (keyboards) and Michael Hausman (drums) — in 35 years.
‘Til Tuesday’s Cruel World set stuck mainly to their 1985 debut album, Voices Carry, including “Love in a Vaccum,” “Looking Over My Shoulder,” and more but they also played “What About Love?,” their hit from 1986’s Welcome Home, and more, plus a cover of The Cars’ “Drive.” Check out video of “Voices Carry,” and more from ‘Til Tuesday’s Cruel World set, plus the setlist, below.
Cruel World ’25 also featured sets from Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, New Order, The Go-Go’s, Devo, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Death Cult, Garbage, Madness, and more.
