Aegean and Emirates have a codeshare partnership that has expanded to earning and using miles for each other’s flights.

Aegean Miles+Bonus members can use their miles for Emirates flights and earn as well, and vice versa.

Note that the frequent flier partnership between Aegean and Emirates doesn’t include any possible elite benefits, such as lounge access or extra luggage allowance.

The miles requirement in business + the fees for Barcelona and Mexico City are very reasonable.

Frankfurt – Hong Kong

The fees from Frankfurt to Hong Kong in Emirates business are really high!

Conclusion

I like that Aegean doesn’t have a separate award chart for exclusive Emirates flights, like most other Emirates frequent flyer partners do. This usually makes these awards extremely expensive in terms of miles required.

The fuel/carrier surcharges on some of these Emirates flights are really high (look at that FRA-DXB-HKG example above), but on others, like BCN-MEX, they are rather reasonable.

I like that I can now use my Aegean Miles+Bonus miles at a reasonable rate for Emirates flights. This may continue, as you cannot pollute this program with points-to-miles conversions from many banking and other partners.
