Evil Dead Burn
Hunter Doohan (“Wednesday”), Luciane Buchanan (“The Night Agent”), and Tandi Wright (“Pearl”) are set to star alongside Souheila Yacoub in the upcoming “Evil Dead Burn” film at New Line and Sony Pictures.

Sébastien Vaniček (“Infested”) is directing from a script written by Florent Bernard while Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert produce and Bruce Campbell executive produce. Filming gets underway shortly for a July 24th 2026 release. [Source: Deadline]

Untitled Sea Creature Series
Josh Hartnett is set to executive produce and star in an upcoming and currently untitled Netflix limited series both set in and filmed in Newfoundland. Jesse McKeown is the creator and showrunner and will executive produce alongside Jessica Rhoades.

The story follwos a mysterious sea creature that begins terrorizing a town with Hartnett playing a “hard-bitten fisherman who must fight to protect his family, his community and his vanishing way of life.” [Source: Netflix]

Untitled Alejandro G. Iñárritu Film
Oscar-winning filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu (“The Revenant”) has teased his currently untitled new film starring Tom Cruise which recently wrapped photography at Pinewood Studios ahead of an October 2026 opening.

Jesse Plemons, Sandra Hüller, Sophie Wilde, Riz Ahmed, Michael Stuhlbarg, Emma D’Arcy and John Goodman co-star. Appearing at Cannes, Iñárritu dubs the movie a “wild comedy of catastrophic proportions” and has high praise for its star, telling The Playlist:

“The range that I discovered working with Tom is unprecedented for me as a director. I was so f—ing impressed and happy… [Tom Cruise] gives himself. He has an incredible sense of passion. It’s a brutal comedy. It’s a wild comedy of human nature. It’s scary and funny. It’s beautiful. I will start editing next week. It was a very challenging film, you will see. It’s many borders of many things.”

Ice Cream Man
Horror filmmaker Eli Roth has announcd “Ice Cream Man,” a new film being shopped around at Cannes with distribution deals closed already in a number of Asian, Eiropean and Latin American countries while StudioCanal has taken it for the UK, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany and Poland.

The story is set in a deceptively idyllic summer town that spirals into madness when children begin receiving sinister ‘treats’ from a mysterious ice cream vendor. Shooting begins this summer in Canada with the hopes that this will launch the next great horror franchise. [Source: Variety]
