We were all a little surprised when Oscar-winning filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu (“The Revenant”) and Tom Cruise decided to join forces with Warner Bros. for a new mysterious film. The filmmaker is now dishing some minor details about the untitled pic while visiting the Cannes Film Festival, which had recently wrapped principal photography at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom. Deadline spoke with Iñárritu, who is attending the Croissette at Cannes for the 25th anniversary of his film “Amores Perros,” and briefly commented on the new project by teasing it won’t be relying on Cruise’s brand of action as there won’t be death-deflying stunts, and that the movie is going to be a “wild comedy” that will be both “scary” and “funny,” quite the tantalizing description.
