Bruce Springsteen shares new EP ft. anti-Trump comments

Bruce Springsteen has been making headlines over the past week for the anti-Trump comments he made at his tour-opening Manchester show last Wednesday (5/14), where in addition to blasting the administration he called on “all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experiment to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism, and let freedom ring!” He’s now released a new EP with recordings from that show that includes those speeches, as well as his performances of “Land of Hope and Dreams,” “Long Walk Home,” “My City of Ruins,” and his cover of Bob Dylan’s “Chimes of Freedom.” You can hear it below.

Trump responded to Springsteen’s words by calling him a bunch of names on his Truth Social site, and then by demanding a “major investigation” into him, Beyoncé, Bono, and other artists and public figures, claiming they accepted money to appear at Kamala Harris campaign events.

Springsteen had more to say about Trump and the administration at his second Manchester show as well, and Neil Young also entered the fray with a post on his Neil Young Archives, writing, in part, “What are you worryin’ about man? Bruce and thousands of musicians think you are ruining America. You worry about that instead of the dyin’ kids in Gaza. That’s your problem. I am not scared of you. Neither are the rest of us.”
