EVA Air has rolled out a new promotion for Infinity Mileage Land members, offering free Inflight Wifi & Messaging from July 1 to September 30, 2025.

Depending on the class of service you’re traveling in, the complimentary inflight perk is either full wifi or a messenger service for Infinity Mileage Land members and full wifi for all Business Class passengers.

EVA Air has advertised this as a summer promotion (see here) for the months of July through September.

EVA Air is set to launch a significant upgrade to its in-flight Wi-Fi service this July, offering complimentary access to “Infinity MileageLands” members across all cabin classes. Passengers can enjoy seamless connectivity when the aircraft reaches 10,000 feet cruising altitude. To promote this upgrade, EVA Air plans to roll out a limited-time summer promotion, from July 1 to September 30, 2025, allowing all passengers—members and non-members alike—onboard Wi-Fi equipped aircraft (Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 787, and Airbus A330-300) to enjoy free unlimited web browsing Wi-Fi service.

Following the promotional period, complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi access will be available exclusively for Business Class passengers and “Infinity MileageLands” members, allowing them to stay connected to unlimited web browsing or text messaging. Whether it’s replying to work emails, chatting with friends and family, monitoring the stock market, or sharing travel photos on social media, staying connected in the sky has never been easier.

When booking a flight with EVA Air, members need to input their “Infinity MileageLands” membership number for the system to determine their eligible inflight Wi-Fi service.

Making it mandatory to put in an Infinity Mileage Land number is not very advantageous because it’s not exactly a great program, and many passengers participate in a different Star Alliance program.

Is it worthwhile to switch to EVA Air’s program, where you likely won’t have status, just for free basic Wi-Fi benefits? Probably not.

Here is the matrix of what passengers are eligible for:

As a passenger in Business Class, it doesn’t matter; you’ll have free access to Wi-Fi either way, but for Premium Economy or Economy Class, you require the EVA Air membership. Depending on the flight and distance, I’d rather pay than waste my mileage credit for internet access.

My most recent flight from Bangkok to Taipei also had 30 minutes of free access regardless.

Conclusion

EVA Air has a new summer promotion, this time for free wifi services on flights between July 1st and September 30th.

To obtain the free Wifi, a passenger must either fly in Business Class or have an EVA Air Frequent Flyer membership attached to the reservation. This would, of course, invalidate any mileage credit to one’s preferred frequent flyer program, and it could be argued that it’s a lousy deal to exchange a large amount of miles for wifi. Let alone just a messenger service.

It’s not a bad idea, EVA Air can avoid paying other airlines for miles, and has to give almost nothing in return. This must be rather lucrative if many passengers take the deal but I can’t see any status customer swap to EVA Air just for this.
