Teaser: Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein”

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and actors Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth were on hand to unveil del Toro’s “Frankenstein” film hitting later this year.

As previously indicated, the film is forgoing the horror focus of past adaptations for something more emotional with a story about fathers and sons.

The film is set in Eastern Europe in the 19th Century and tells the story of Dr. Pretorious (Christoph Waltz), who needs to track down Frankenstein’s Monster (Elordi) – believed to have died in a fire 40 years before – in order to continue the experiments of Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Isaac).

Goth plays Victor’s fiance Elizabeth Lavenza while Lars Mikkelsen, Ralph Ineson, David Bradley, Felix Kammerer and Charles Dance also star.

This has been a passion project of del Toro’s for many years and finally got to shoot the film in Toronto throughout a good chunk of last year.

Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein” hits the streamer in November.
