According to the latest Barside Buzz Spider-Man: Brand New Day could be set to cast it’s two main villains, but it may get delayed. The information comes from Daniel RPK on his Patreon and the insider has an especially good hit rate with Sony/Marvel projects. Daniel claims that Marvel Studios has reportedly made offers for both the male and female villain roles in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and that the actors are expected to be revealed soon.
Now of course there have been a ton of rather conflicting rumors about this film. With one leak supposedly showing Hulk would be the villain and Spidey would team up with Punisher. But the actual insiders are not hearing any of that (outside John Rocha back in January). What they seem to be hearing is, a main male and female villain. As per the rumors, some insiders claim Nicole Kidman is up for the female role. I’ve also heard Steven Yeun’s name mentioned with the male role, but that was more speculative.
I guess we may get some clarity soon then with Brand New Day set to begin filming by the end of Summer.

However, with Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars now delayed by approximately 6 months a piece, will Spider-Man: BND stay where it is. Can they really begin filming this in Summer and still have it completed by release date next Summer?
Daniel says this,
“There’s a good chance Spider-Man: Brand New Day will get pushed as well.”
I guess the question would then be, where? The only option I can see is Summer, 2027. This would place the film once again in the middle of Doomsday and Secret Wars. I could see them try and get this out for next Summer though with maybe only small delays. I guess we will find out?
