Global multidisciplinary design studio, JPA Design, proudly announces the completion of a brand new transformative lounge at Brussels Airport, commissioned by the Brussels Airport Company (BAC).
Named The View for its dual-aspect windows overlooking the apron and runways, this visionary design delivers a luxurious, multi-zoned space that blends functionality with comfort.
Perfectly suited for premium travellers, it immerses guests in a setting that celebrates Brussels’ rich culture, heritage, and present-day role at the heart of Europe.
Drawing inspiration from Brussels’ eclectic architectural landscape, JPA Design has crafted an interior that mirrors the city’s vibrant, multi-layered character. As a bilingual, multicultural hub, Brussels is a city that thrives on the interplay of diverse styles, where Art Nouveau and Art
Deco meet tradition and modernity in a harmonious, playful, and sophisticated attitude. This ethos is woven into every element of the new lounge.
At the heart of the lounge is an iconic central bar, anchored by a breathtaking stained-glass skylight that serves as the focal point of the space.
Conceived by JPA Design and masterfully developed and crafted by Atelier Mestdagh, a local stained-glass specialist renowned for their restoration work on cathedrals and heritage sites, this striking element captures the intricate beauty of Art Nouveau design, combining four distinct textures of pure stained glass with refined decorative metalwork that elegantly frames the bar, adding richness and visual depth to the space.
Surrounding the bar, intimate two-person booths with privacy screens provide a comforting and private space for guests, reflecting a thoughtful balance between social engagement and quiet retreat.
Alex Duncan, the Design Director at JPA Interiors, comments: “We set out to create a space that embodies the spirit of Brussels, sophisticated yet playful, steeped in history yet forward-thinking. As with all the airport lounges and aircraft interiors that we design, our main objective is to create environments where the premier traveller can enjoy a 5-star hospitality experience that provides an oasis from the stresses of travel.
The new lounge offers a multi-zoned environment, designed to adapt to the needs of diverse travellers. Whether seeking a quiet corner to work, a space to relax, or a vibrant social setting at the bar, guests will find an environment that caters to their preferences.
Every detail, from the carefully curated finishes to the bespoke furnishings, echoes JPA Design’s commitment to delivering both luxury and comfort. Their team’s commitment to delivering a truly bespoke approach ensures that each environment is meticulously crafted to reflect the unique needs and aspirations of their clients.
JPA Design goes beyond the conventional, offering a level of personalisation and attention to detail that is unrivalled in the industry. With JPA, every touchpoint is an opportunity to create a seamless, elevated experience, setting new standards of excellence in luxury design, working as one design agency across multiple life touchpoints.
