AAA Retail & Commercial Forum extends reach to encompass wider Pacific region
The Australian Airports Association Retail & Commercial Forum will welcome airports from the broader Pacific region to the 2025 event, including many from New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

PACIFIC REGION. The Australian Airports Association Retail & Commercial Forum will welcome airports from the broader Pacific region to the 2025 event, including from New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Now in its fourth year, the Forum is a collaboration between the Australian Airports Association (AAA), The Mercurius Group and The Moodie Davitt Report. It serves as the leading platform for promoting the growth of retail and commercial revenues at airports. The Forum will run from 21-23 July 2025 at Sydney’s Sofitel Wentworth hotel.
Airports from New Zealand have attended the Forum since its inception and there will be a record number at this year’s event, including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown and Invercargill.
In addition, while airports from the Pacific islands have always attended the Forum (e.g. Cook Islands and Vanuatu), there will be a record number of Pacific Island airports at this year’s event including from Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Samoa.
The Forum is the only event of its kind across the Pacific region that focuses on commercial revenue development for airports, making it both relevant and accessible to the broader Pacific community.
AAA CEO Simon Westaway said: “Aviation is a critical social and economic enabler for all of Australasia and the greater Pacific. Although we are the Australian Airports Association, we warmly embrace our broadening Pacific family. This Forum is the ideal place to exchange ideas and experiences between airports and for the Australian airport commercial community to interact with even more airports in the region.”
“Our people across Australian and NZ airports and their expertise is becoming increasingly linked across and through the Pacific. Collectively we can genuinely support and enable even more partnerships and commercial alignment for the benefit of our great region.”
The Mercurius Group Managing Director Ivo Favotto said: “In addition to airports, the Forum also openly welcomes any commercial operators from New Zealand and the Pacific Islands (e.g. duty free, retail, F&B, ground transport etc) to come and engage with the Australian counterparts, meet with brands and identify opportunities.”
Registration to attend the Forum is now open via the AAA website: Airport Retail & Commercial Forum – Australian Airports Association
