Capital One has started sending out communications today about changes to Priority Pass and Capital One lounge access rules, which will take effect mainly from February 1, 2026.
Venture X and Venture X Business primary cardholders keep their Priority Pass access, but it is removed from additional cardholders. Venture X Business cardholders can bring two guests to Priority Pass lounges, while the free guest access is entirely removed from Venture X.
You can access Capital One’s page for lounge access rule changes here.
Changes: Venture X
Additional cardholders won’t have Priority Pass access from February 1, 2026.
The primary cardholder can buy the Priority Pass access for additional cardholders for $125 per member.
Currently, there is no limit on the number of guests that a Priority Pass member (from this product) can bring to a Priority Pass-affiliated lounge. There will be no free guest access from February 1, 2026.
Guest access is also lost at Capital One Lounges and Landings unless the cardmember spends $75,000 on the card in the calendar year. Then they can bring two guests.
Changes: Venture X Business
Venture X Business cardholders can buy Priority Pass and Capital One Lounge access for additional cardholders from February 1, 2026, for a fee of $125. (If I have understood correctly, this product doesn’t currently come with a complimentary Priority Pass for additional cardholders.)
Venture X Business cardholders can continue bringing two guests to Priority Pass lounges.
The restaurant benefit is removed from Venture X Business Mastercard cardholders on September 9, 2025, which has allowed members to use airport restaurants using the Priority Pass product. The current Venture X Business Visa card does not offer this benefit.
Guest access is removed from Capital One Lounges and Landings unless the cardmember spends $75,000 in a calendar year.
Capital One’s Email to Venture X Business Cardholders:
Announcing upcoming changes to Venture X Business airport lounge access
Capital One is dedicated to delivering a best-in-class airport lounge experience for our Venture X Business customers. We are introducing a new option for your additional cardholders (including authorized users and account managers) to access lounges and are changing guest policies to address the increasing wait times customers have encountered.
As a Venture X Business primary cardholder, you will continue to receive complimentary access to Capital One Lounges, Capital One Landings and Priority Pass™ lounges.
Please take the time to carefully review the changes below. We’ve also updated the Capital One Lounge and Landing and Priority Pass™ Terms & Conditions to reflect these changes.
Additional cardholder access changes
- Beginning Feb. 1, 2026, primary cardholders on Venture X Business accounts who want to add lounge access for their additional cardholders will have the ability to pay an annual lounge access fee of $125 per cardholder to grant them access to Capital One Lounges, Capital One Landings and Priority Pass lounges.¹
- You can still keep or add additional cardholders without lounge access for no fee.
- If you wish to add lounge access, you can do so for up to four additional cardholders. You will have the option to do so beginning on Feb. 1, 2026.
Guest access changes
Priority Pass Lounges:
- Venture X Business primary cardholders will continue to receive complimentary access for two guests at Priority Pass lounges.
- Beginning Feb. 1, 2026, eligible additional cardholders will also receive complimentary access for two guests at Priority Pass lounges.²
- Primary cardholders and eligible additional cardholders will also be able to bring more than two guests into Priority Pass lounges at a rate of $35 for each additional guest per visit.³
- Beginning Sept. 9, 2025, access to Priority Pass non-lounge airport experiences will no longer be included in your benefits.
Capital One Lounges and Landings:
- Beginning Feb. 1, 2026, guests of Venture X Business cardholders will no longer automatically receive complimentary access to Capital One Lounges and Landings.
- Primary cardholders and eligible additional cardholders that spend at least $75,000 total across all cardholders on their Venture X Business account per calendar year can bring up to two complimentary guests to Capital One Lounges and one complimentary guest to Capital One Landings per visit.
- Cardholder spend toward the $75,000 threshold begins in the 2025 calendar year. Complimentary guest access is valid for the calendar year in which the $75,000 spend occurs and the following calendar year.
- Venture X Business primary cardholders and eligible additional cardholders will continue to receive discounted pricing of $45 per guest per visit, and will now receive a discounted rate of $25 per visit per guest 17 and under. Venture X Business additional cardholders will now receive discounted pricing of $45 per guest per visit and $25 per visit per guest 17 and under.
- Children under two remain free.
Conclusion
The Priority Pass restaurant benefit must be costing a lot for these card issuers, as it has been slowly removed from all these products and, finally, from the last of my cards that still include it.
I understand that this feature has been important for many who travel from or through airports that don’t have Priority Pass or other lounges they can access, but which do have these Priority Pass-affiliated restaurants. It has been more than two years since I last used this feature.
The removal of Priority Pass from additional Venture X cardholders does hit home, however, as I have had two additional cardholders (friends) who otherwise wouldn’t have Priority Pass lounge access.
Additionally, the removal of an unlimited number of guests from Venture X Priority Pass affects those who travel with friends and family members, as the Priority Pass access is only included for the cardholder, and any additional entries were previously complimentary. The Venture X Business keeps the guest access (two) for free.
The email states that these changes would be introduced due to lounge crowding, but surely the restaurant benefit is removed due to cost reasons, as is the case with these other Priority Pass changes.
