‘Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection’ Coming to PlayStation Later This Year [Trailer]

We’ve been waiting for what seems like forever for a definitive Mortal Kombat anthology, and Netherrealm and WB Games look to be doing just that with Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, which is due out later this year for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. Developed by Digital Eclipse, this collection not only contains the original arcade versions of Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, Mortal Kombat 3, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat 4, but also many of the home versions, and even handheld systems.

Best of all, the arcade and console games can all be played online with rollback netcode.

Here’s the rundown on what’s included, with more on the way:

• Mortal Kombat – 1992: Arcade, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, Game Gear
• Mortal Kombat II -1993: Arcade, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, 32X
• Mortal Kombat 3 – 1995: Arcade, SNES, Genesis
• Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 – 1995: Arcade, SNES
• Mortal Kombat 4 – 1997: Arcade
• Mortal Kombat Advance – 2001: Game Boy Advance
• Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance – 2002: Game Boy Advance
• Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition – 2003: Game Boy Advance

Games aren’t the only part of the Legacy Kollection, as Digital Eclipse is also putting together several documentaries, which feature Mortal Kombat creators Ed Boon and John Tobias, along with several other developer and actors involved in the creation of the series.

Still not enough? Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection will also include design documents, early prototype materials, motion-capture sessions, concept art, and much more, including some never before seen items. Fingers crossed we get the amazing commercials, including the awesome one from Mortal Kombat II.
