New “Superman” Runtime, Posters & Clips

After wild reports ranging from 140 minutes a while back to a short 122 minutes the other day, the official runtime for James Gunn’s “Superman” has now finally been revealed.

An actual AMC Theaters listing now confirms that Gunn’s film will clock in at 129 minutes. Gunn has subsequently confirmed on Threads the 129 minutes runtime, adding that it’s inclusive of credits/post credits.

Asked if Warners had asked him to make the film shorter, he says: “Zero truth to that, and they couldn’t even if that’s something that they wanted to. It’s a DC Studios film.”

The marketing for the film appears to be working a treat as audience interest levels are high, with the movie projected to hit a $175 million domestic opening weekend.

New featurette from the film have also been released, one having fun with on Nathan Fillion’s blond bowl cut as Guy Gardener/Green Lantern while the other focuses on Alan Tudyk’s Robot #4. Also popping up all over in recent days have been a number of character posters for the film, which have been included below.

CBM reports that tie-in toys and books for the film have apparently revealed that Abominable Snowmen will appear in the movie, living in the region around the Fortress of Solitude.

It was indicated last week the film is expected to be completely done and locked by this coming Friday. After that, the publicity train for the movie truly begins with more TV spots expected soon. “Superman” opens in cinemas July 11th.
