Avolta captures five-year contract at Guadalajara International Airport

MEXICO. Leading travel experience player Avolta has extended its presence at Guadalajara International Airport with a new five-year contract.

The company will carry out a renovation of its three existing main stores at the airport and will open an additional two stores across more than 1,200sq m of duty-free and duty-paid space.

The stores span international and domestic zones plus arrivals and departures. They offer a full range of duty-free categories, including perfumes & cosmetics, liquor, food & confectionery, jewellery & watches, accessories and toys.

In addition to the assortment of international brands, a strong destination merchandise offer including handcrafted goods is available. A tequila tasting bar allows guests to explore the varied selection of local tequilas.

Avolta General Manager Mexico José Luis Ramos commented: “At Avolta, we’re dedicated to making travellers happier, by putting travellers at the heart of everything we do. We are excited to grow our business in Mexico. We thank our partners at Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico for their continued trust and we look forward to working closely with them, to bring an outstanding experience to passengers at Guadalajara International Airport.”

Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico Commercial Director Susana Romero said: “Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP) is so glad to have Avolta as one of its most important stakeholders in Guadalajara Airport.

“GAP is confident that Avolta will improve the passenger experience while passing through their stores prior to boarding. As part of our effort to maximise revenues from commercial activities and meet the passengers’ expectations, GAP expanded and redesigned Guadalajara airport terminal to accommodate more commercial units (in 2024).

“In addition, the passenger flow was redirected, increasing exposure to new commercial areas. Guadalajara Airport’s layout was redesigned and now includes food & beverage units located on the terrace. This space is newly constructed, where passengers will be able to be outdoors while they wait to board their flight.”

In addition to its operation at Guadalajara International Airport, Avolta operates more than 80 stores in Mexico including at Mexico City, Cancún, Guadalajara and Monterrey airports. ✈
