CHINA. Chinese watchmaker Fiyta has partnered with Zhuhai Duty-Free to unveil a high-profile aerospace-themed exhibition at the retailer’s Gongbei Port Arrivals Duty-Free store.
Running through 30 June, the immersive activation combines advanced aviation aesthetics with contemporary Chinese design.
With a heritage deeply connected to China’s aerospace programmes, Fiyta continues to reinforce its reputation as a highly respected and innovative Chinese watchmaker, combining technical precision with cultural storytelling.
Its recent collections, infused with traditional Chinese motifs, have resonated strongly with domestic consumers while gaining recognition in international duty-free markets.
Located in the heart of the Greater Bay Area, Zhuhai Duty-Free’s flagship store at Gongbei Port spans 3,889sq m across two levels, making it the largest land port duty-free store in the Asia Pacific region.
Operated by Sino-Singapore (Hainan) Airport Commercial Management Co (CAMC), the store has quickly established itself as both a commercial and cultural hub.
The activation zone brings space exploration to life through striking installations, including astronaut figures, lunar landscapes and a dynamic red-and-gold palette inspired by spacecraft design.
Thematic counters feature key scenarios such as aviation, spaceflight and gifting, offering travellers a unique horological journey through Fiyta’s innovation-led collections.
A key highlight of the activation was the ‘Astronaut Walkthrough’ – an interactive performance where actors in full astronaut gear engaged with visitors, enhancing footfall and creating viral moments on Xiaohongshu, China’s popular lifestyle and social media platform.
Fiyta’s timepieces are prominently showcased, with special focus on the Space Series ‘Moon’ Edition, adorned with an 18K gold coin with Earth and Moon pattern, and a caseback engraved with the lunar South Pole-Aitken Basin.
The J-20 Stealth Fighter Limited Edition is also on display, inspired by military aviation and featuring chronograph hands shaped like fighter jets.
The exhibition presents Fiyta’s culturally inspired designs, including the Ladies’ Classic Diamond Automatic Watch collection, which uses glittering blue goldstone dials to reflect the beauty of cosmic nebulae. The Persimmon Auspiciousness timepieces are also in the spotlight, echoing Song Dynasty porcelain artistry.
Through this exhibition, Fiyta reaffirms its commitment to merging precision watchmaking with aerospace innovation, creating timepieces that celebrate China’s technological advancements and cultural heritage.
