Andy Serkis has confirmed filming will begin on “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum” movie in early to mid-2026 in New Zealand. Serkis directs and stars in the film that releases on December 17th 2027. [Source: Collider]
Crystal Lake
Devin Kessler (“Godfather of Harlem”), Cameron Scoggins (“Shades of Blue”), and newcomer Gwendolyn Sundstrom have officially joined the cast of A24’s “Friday the 13th” prequel series “Crystal Lake” at Peacock.
They join previously announced leads Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees and William Catlett as Levon Brooks. “Crystal Lake” is created and written by showrunner Brad Caleb Kane (“It: Welcome to Derry,” “Tokyo Vice,” “Warrior”). [Source: Peacock]
The Devil Wears Prada 2
Actress Emily Blunt has revealed that the follow-up to “The Devil Wears Prada” goes into production next month with Blunt set to reprise her role as Emily Charlton. The first film’s screenwriter Aline Bros McKenna returns to pen the sequel and director David Frankel is expected to return as well for the follow-up which will open May 1st 2026. [Source: Deadline]
The Summer I Turned Pretty
The trailer for the third and final season of Amazon Prime Video’s “The Summer I Turned Pretty” series has been released. It’s the end of her junior year of college, and Belly’s looking forward to another summer with her soulmate, Jeremiah.
Her future seems set, until some core-shaking events bring her first love Conrad back into her life. Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads and must decide which brother has her heart. Summer will never be the same. The eleven-episode run begins July 16th 2025.
Ironheart
Marvel Television has released a new featurette for the Marvel Studios Disney+ series “Ironheart” with new behind-the-scenes clips and interviews. The clip appears to offer a first full look at Riri Williams’ final suit of armor, which will be powered by both advanced tech and magic. There’s also an apparent glimpse of the Eziekel Stane character. The series debuts on Disney+ on June 24th.
