Teaser Trailer: “The Thursday Murder Club”

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for the film adaptation of Richard Osman’s bestselling 2020 novel “The Thursday Murder Club”.

Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie lead the crime-comedy, which is being directed by “Harry Potter” and “Mrs. Doubtfire” filmmaker Chris Columbus from a script by Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote.

The story follows a group of friends in a retirement home – an ex-spy (Mirren), ex-psychiatrist (Kingsley), ex-union activist (Brosnan) and ex-nurse (Imrie) who gather to solve cold case murders for fun. They soon find themselves caught up in a real case.

Also starring are Richard E. Grant, David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Sarah Niles and Henry Lloyd-Hughes.

Columbus, Holly Bario, Jeb Brody, Eleanor Columbus, Jo Burn and Jennifer Todd produce the project which is a Netflix and Amblin co-production.

“The Thursday Murder Club” is slated to hit cinemas August 28th.
