“Zelda,” “Lanterns” Consider Schafer, Linney

Hunter Schafer (“Euphoria,” “Cuckoo,” “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” is reportedly being eyed to play Princess Zelda in the live-action “The Legend of Zelda” movie at Nintendo and Sony Pictures.

Scooper DanielRPK broke the scoop for the film which will follow young warrior Link who is destined to protect the magical kingdom of Hyrule from a ruthless warlord and his forces of darkness who seek an ancient relic.

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad will produce the project which is being directed by Wes Ball (“The Maze Runner,” “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes”). The film is targeting a March 2027 opening.

Speaking of high-profile actress roles, the one and only Laura Linney is being rumored to have scored a role in HBO Max’s “Lanterns” series based on the DC Comics.

Jeff Sneider broke the news on The Hot Mic tonight, but couldn’t reveal any further details so specifics of her role are under wraps for now.

The series is currently in the midst of production of its final few episodes and Linney joins a cast that includes Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald, Garrett Dillahunt, Ulrich Thomsen, Jason Ritter and Nathan Fillion.
