CROWBAR / EYEHATEGOD
Crowbar and Eyehategod have announced a co-headlining tour, kicking off August 8 in Tampa and wrapping up August 30 in New Orleans, with the bands swapping playing order depending on the city. NYC will be Rocks Off Concert Cruise on August 14 with Crowbar headlining.
LAUFEY
Laufey‘s new album A Matter of Time arrives in August, and she’s announced a North American tour supporting it.
SMERZ
Norwegian duo Smerz have announced October tour dates in support of new album Big city life. Things begin in Seattle on 10/12 and wrap up in Queens, NY on 10/24 (venue TBA).
SIGUR RÓS
Sigur Rós have been collaborating with the Wordless Music Orchestra and local orchestras on tour over the last few years, and they’ve now announced what they say are the final shows of the run, including North American dates this fall.
LEVITATION 2025
Levitation festival returns to Austin from September 25-28 and the lineup includes Pavement, TV on the Radio, Mastodon, Acid Bath, Wednesday, Built to Spill, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Wednesday, Blood Incantation, Blonde Redhead, and more.
MAGNOLIA & JOHNSON ELECTRIC CO
Will Johnson (Centro-matic, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit) and Jason Molina’s Magnolia Electric Co were set to tour together in 2009 — the same year they released the collab album Molina and Johnson — but dates were canceled due to Molina’s struggles with alcoholism. (Molina died in 2013 of alcohol abuse-related organ failure.) Now original Magnolia members Mike Brenner, Jason Evans Groth, Michael Kapinus, Mark Rice, and Pete Schreiner have teamed up with Will to form Magnolia & Johnson Electric Co. and will play shows this fall.
PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTING
High-concept UK instrumental band Public Service Broadcasting will be bringing their album The Last Flight, about legendary pilot Amelia Earhart, to the US and Canada this fall for shows in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York (Irving Plaza on 12/9) and Toronto.
BETTER LOVERS’ BLISSMAS
Every Time I Die/Dillinger Escape Plan offshoot Better Lovers are bringing their BLissmas holiday show back for its third annual edition this year, happening on December 13 at Buffalo Riverworks in Buffalo, NY. As usual, it’s a stacked lineup, and this year it includes Glassjaw, Saves the Day, and more.
