Ubisoft has finally showed a new screenshot of Sam Fisher from its anticipated Splinter Cell remake. It has been years since we’ve seen anything substantial about the game, and on top of that, an insider has given an update that will surely excite fans awaiting Fisher’s return.
Insider claims Splinter Cell remake is “genuinely impressive”
This new update comes from Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming. In an X post quoting Ubisoft’s potential Splinter Cell remake tease, Henderson said the remake is “genuinely impressive” from what they have seen. No further details about the remake are given.
“The remake looks genuinely impressive from what I’ve seen,” said Henderson. “I hope we hear about it sooner rather than later!”
When we will see more of the Splinter Cell remake is unknown. However, given this new tease from Ubisoft and Summer Game Fest just being a week away, it seems very likely a reveal can happen next week. Of course, this is just speculation. We will know more when or if Ubisoft decides to unveil details about the previously announced remake.
The Splinter Cell remake was initially announced back in 2021. Since the announcement, several claims have been made over the years, stating that the game was years away. The last update sounded like it would come in 2026 at the earliest. That still may be the case, but at least the latest updates are more promising.
The Splinter Cell series has been dormant since 2013’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Sam Fisher has made appearances in several Ubisoft games, like Rainbow Six Siege and Ghost Recon Wildlands, but has yet to be given a new game despite fans clearly clamoring for more.
